Tenisha Simon, PMHNP-BC

Tenisha Simon was born and raised in Bronx, NY. She is a first generation American and a proud Antiguan. Mental health management is often overlooked in the Caribbean and African American culture. Tenisha’s goals are to make quality mental health care accessible, decrease the stigma associated with mental health and help clients to realize their potential of health and wellbeing.

Tenisha Simon has over a decade of experience as a mental health provider starting as a RN in Jamaica hospital (NY) in the psychiatric emergency room. She developed an interest in providing mental health care after seeing the same clients returning to the hospital. Many of these clients lacked support, structure and routine in their lives. With her clients, she likes to impact overall wellness by creating positive habits around nutrition, sleep, career and relationships.

Initial Assessment
Radiating Joy Mental Health Services is an adult psychiatric practice that offers psychopharmacologic and therapeutic treatment.
Anxiety
Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression
Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is a mental health condition characterized by excessive, uncontrollable worry about a variety of everyday things such as health, work, family, money, or future events — even when there's little or no reason to worry.

Anxiety & Panic Attacks
